ICICI Bank respects us and our money

Getting Shah Rukh (his picture takes up more than half a page of the Ad.) to vouch for ICICI bank's ethical practices will surely get the eyeballs. Especially since every other day, the Indian media brings out another horror story of a bank's 'indirectly hired' goons' 'recovery behaviour'. Also considering the fact that the rest of the banks in India have been muted in their response to this negative image having snowballed, ICICI has been smart to come out in the open and declare their 'good' intentions.

But what the bank needs to note is, sure the message is out and loudly heard, but actions must follow. Else the whole attempt of the communique including the cores paid to Shah Rukh would have no effect on the Indian consumer. The citizenry will go back to their original belief on unethical behaviour of Indian banks.

For ICICI's and the banking customers' sake, I hope the bank means what it says and backs it up with ethical behaviour.

Jane,

( from Francisco's Money Speech )

"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice--there is no other--and your time is running out."

I like that observation... good one..
ma thoughts:
if men dint use money to deal with men- they'd use oil, they'd use diamonds, they'd use arms, they'd use nuclear deals, they'd use backstabbing and a million other things to deal with other men. Men pave way for choices Sir, and your two way choice of money/men is only theoretical.

With or without money, bloodshed and gore happens. With your argument as the base, if i DID CHOOSE money as my choice, then arms/bloodshed shouldn't happen. In Iraq and so many other places, the diplomats/politicians/leaders have all teh monney in the world. They use that money to gain power for themselves, live powercrazy lives and let zillion innocent ones die. So I choose money, and million men still die. An anti-thesis of wat ya quote.

If I chose to believe that money is atleast partly the reason for evil, I'm asking for teh destruction of those in power and proliferation of better peace.

I quote again...

"So you think that money is the root of all evil?" said Francisco d'Anconia. "Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears, or of the looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil?"
I can possibly take tat as a possible, partial confirmation of wat i'd said earlier:

You say tat money is made possible only by men who produce. TatZ WAT I'm sayin too- men who produce power, hatred and upperhandedness are the root cause of evil..

So the root cause of evil from all the above exchanges can then be branded as that evil intent in men to consume supremacy and
hotblooded power.

So if we need to eliminate evil IN THE WORLD, we need to curb the evil inside every man. We need to tame the Satan inside eevry man. Now that's what I'd call tat a bloody uphill task- Mission Impossible IX.

:)

tatz wat i'd call a bloody uphill task*

I think you are wrong. The problem is we and our entire generation has been brought up being told to get a good job, so that you make enough money to live a happy life. And on the other hand we come across so many "Godmen" and preachers who profess "money is the root cause of all evil". You see the pull effect, at times I am confused!
I think all thats just plain rubbish. If you can maintain your sanity and clear on your priorities, money doesn't even figure. Tell me can anyone including your Mata Amma,Saibaba and the rest survive without $$$???
I think the best example of money canbring you happiness and great life is OSHO. Try and get your hands on "Autobiography of a Spiritually incorrect mystic"
Probably clear a lot of smoke..
yA're ryte sandeep. If there was no money, there would sadly be no power, no politicz, no powerplays, no crimes, no counterintel, no economists, no businessmen, no differentiation, no jealousy, no superpower, no james bond muveez.. yeh, sad arse cavemen life without money.. the jingle now sounds good - it brings in all teh excitement, might as well wallow in the wads of cash!
and I dint need a spiritual mystic to demystify tat.. I jus needed one pataka round of Diwali shoppin 2 prove the goodess of money.. save your diwali firesparks- ya dun need more smoke 2 clear than wat ya already wish 4 me 2 clear in ma head as per ya comment...[;)]
